ABOUT ME...
Hi there and welcome to Ajumma's Kitchen,
My name is Poh Lin, from Malaysia. I am now residing in Penang which is my home since 1996.
It was a long journey indeed before this website was made official. It was my pet project since year 2010. Due to other priorities in life, I put it aside until mid 2011. For your information, my first blog was "Poh Lin, Life and Kimchi," Here's the link in case you are interested:http://plng78.ads4blog.net
Ajumma is a Korean word, literary means "Aunty." Well, I am eligible to be called "Aunty" in my age right now. Age is just a number. "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter" - Mark Twain.
Kitchen here means my mind, where all my thoughts and feelings are stored, processed and shared. So, Ajumma's Kitchen is a special place I will share with you on things that matter the most to me. By the way, I like Korean dramas and K-POP.
Reading was in my blood since I was small. Sadly, this habit didn't continue after I finished my high school. Luckily, it didn't die in me and soon found its way in a special way. I met a special person at work who encouraged me to continue reading and much more. She's a mentor to me, the BIG SISTER I never had. The very 1st English book I picked up was by Sophie Kinsella "Confessions of a Shopaholic" after a long hiatus. "Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window" was one of the priceless gifts from my BIG SISTER. Slowly, I developed my interest in self-development books. Books that uplift my spirit and people around me. My hope now is that I'll own a library of my own.
I must admit I have been very blessed and feel grateful indeed to meet many people who have touched my life in various ways. I am sorry I am unable to mention everyone in this introduction. So, stay tuned for more. Who knows, you'll be mentioned in any part of my writings. Don't forget to sign my Guest Book if this is your first visit. I hope you'll enjoy what's available in Ajumma's Kitchen.
Last but not least, "Be the change you want to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi
Sincerely,
Poh Lin
